Messi & Messi

Landon's Favorite soccer player is Lionel Messi. He loves him.  He came to Utah to play against RSL and we couldn't get tickets so we made sure he got to watch if with his jersey on.  He made us take these pictures of him with Messi on the screen.  This boy loves him some soccer.

 

April 14th 20th 2026

Another week down 

CHAPTER 41: Fort St. John (BC Canada)

WEATHER: 

One day I won't put those snow emoji anymore...

HIGHLIGHT: 

♡ Me and my comps accidently drank alcohol 

♡ Went to a work party for our friend and won a raffle 

♡ Filmed a fire video for our district (see my Google photos for our 5 minute video) #bouttomakethedistricthype

♡ Ate alot of Philippine food

♡ Played just dance and clearly need to increase my knowledge of the "trendy dances" 

♡ Had to speak in church, with no time to prepare, and no phone or scriptures 

♡ Had interviews  (virtually of course- because we are to far away)

♡ Had 7 friends at church

♡ Went shopping during out lunch break (at the one store thats here)

♡ Got to go running because we have a indoor track here (and its to hazardous to run outside on the ice because to many people fall..) #tranningforthemission5k

♡ Tried to cut a frozen loaf of bread for 10 minutes

SPIRITUAL THOUGHT: 

Okay yall cool miracle for ya.

We went contacting last week outside. Because im in the boonies and theres limited people to talk to i cant chicken out of talking to someone even if they look scary. (In YSA i could really pick and choose who I was going to talk because there was so many people and you couldn't talk to them all) but here you got to talk to the rare people you do see. So im showing my trainee how to go finding and theres this guy walking down the street. He looked a bit scary but I convinced myself we needed to talk to him anyway. We went and talked to him and turns out bros parents were members of our church and they stopped attending when he was about 6 years old. (Which means odds are he hasnt gotten baptized!). We had a church tour with him this week and walked him around our church building. We showed him the baptismal font and he said that baptism is what hes been looking for in his life. It was such a cool experience and it was cool to see God leading us to those that are ready to accept and choose him even in this small town.

Warmer weather mean tennis

 

Dead Tree

Our Little tree that has been with us since the beginning decided the last 6 months or less to completely die.  It was so sad considering I loved this tree from day 1.  I even have a picture of it on its first day because I  loved it so much.  I  called it my charlie brown tree.  It wa so small and cute. It got a disease in the inside and lost all its needles so we rented a little tractor and tour it out.  Grandpa was in heaven of course running the equipment. 

 

Brecken's Job Shadowing.

Brecken was able to job shadow with uncle Quin for his cca class.  He was excited because he got to miss school...not so much the talking to people he didn't know without his mom being there. We went over all the stuff and he had a packet he had to fill out with Quin.  He was done before lunch and said Quin made him pose for pictures.  Quin works at a women's clinic.  Mostly baby drs and things.  Some of the pictures are hilarious.  Quin is the manager over the facility.  They were supposed to take pictures of what quin does, not what the Dr's do. lol.

 

Three Falls Fun Run

Landon's school had there School Fun Run and donation day.  Landon ran so long and hard and came out 2nd in the whole 3rd grade.  I  had silly string but it ran out after like the 2nd lap because all the kids wanted to be sprayed. lol.  He ran 22 laps in about 20 minutes.  After the fun run they had parents and picnics.  Landons was about 30 minutes after his run.  I went and grabbed his favorite Jimmy johns of course and came back and waited for him to come out and eat it with me. All the boys tried to get us parents to set by each other so the boys could all eat together.  Landon hung out with me for awhile because he was tired from the fun run, but he soon ran off to join his friends for lunch recess.  He has a good group of friends.  Landon was also able to get some of the top donations for his class, so he won some prizes and things for that as well.  We have a good family.  Anyway I  feel like everything is coming all at once and soon school will be out.

Bougie Boonie Sisters

Shaylee Monson CHAPTER 40: Fort St. John (BC Canada)

LIFE UPDATE: 

What up y'all! I thought I would give everyone a life update. Right now im serving in a different province which means different time zone as well! Im pretty much in the middle of nowhere. For my family peeps its giving Montpelier Idaho vibes except a bit smaller and we ain't getting a temple any time soon. 

We had elders previously in this area and it just recently got washed with sisters right before I came so it's been fun trying to figure everything out!

Im actually in the middle of nowhere. Im the furthest away a sister can go in my mission so umm that's fun.

No malls 

No other missionaries 

No in person meetings 

No people on the streets 

Haha ya definitely a lot different from my last area but it will be fun and exciting!  

Everyone laughed when they found out i was in the boonies! They said i was way to bougie for it... so then I nicknamed my trio the bougie boonie sisters. 

HIGHLIGHTS: 

♡ Went Canadian bowling and bowled a 159

♡ Got to hang out with Sis. Clark and Sis. Ballard 

♡ Taught a fire seminary lesson  (we teach once a week)

♡ Ate the best fish and chips ever 

♡ Road trip to GP with bishop (basically slept the whole way) -for stake Conference 

♡ Found a dirty soda shop!!! (Haha they don't even have those in the city) 

♡ Completely ripped apart and cleaned our apartment 

♡ Sung karaoke +10 times 

♡ Have so many Filipino families who love to feed us and make us sing and dance
