Ward Christmas Party

Our ward Christmas party was December 6th.  We were in charge of bringing Dessert.  I had Landon make some cookies with me and he was not to happy when he poured in the flour and it came spitting back out at him as soon as we turned the mixer on.  I  couldn't stop laughing. It went everywhere.  After the cookies were made we headed to the party.  Addison had to work that night so It was just Dean the boys and I.  They put crayons and parchment paper on the tables so you could color or play games while you waited for food.  We had fun playing some games and then got in line for some yummy smoked brisket, mash potatoes, mac and cheese, salads and rolls.  After dinner they had us clean up and get in a large circle where they had people tell about their traditions.  Dean was asked to share a tradition and he talked about how his family grew up having to drink tomato juice for breakfast before they could go open their Christmas presents. He told the memory about trying that out on me our first year of marriage.  I will say I didn't want to hurt his feelings so I did take a little sip, but I  was 40 week pregnant and tomato juice was a hard no. lol.  Needless to say that is not a tradition we kept up with our family, and I think it's safe to say the kids are grateful for that.   After traditions Santa came to visit.  Landon was the only one who wanted to stand in line and talk to him.  Brecken was not having it this year.  I don't blame him. Landon asked for some type of NFL dolphins lego set.
