CHAPTER 14: Glen Allan/ Sherwood Park
WEATHER: All you need to know is that the weather dropped below freezing and it was a really sad day

Whats up everyone!!! These last two weeks so much happened so this might be a long one!!!
TRANSFERS:
We just got transfer news this morning and im officially in YSA. (Total bummer because that's the one place I said I dont want to go yet
- im getting excited though!) Im going from a complete ward of old people to people my own age! It will be so weird, but im excited! Im training as well so send prayers my way because sister monson still has no clue what she is doing! (That's the fun of missionary work I guess

) EXCHANGES:
We had exchanges last week with the cherry grove sisters and it was super fun! Its always fun to switch up companionship for the day. I was the only one that could drive in my companionship and so I got to drive for the whole day! I kinda lead out that day and for the most part it went really well! We found 8 people so that was just a miracle in itself!
ZONE CONFERENCE:
We had zone conference on Friday and it was super fun! All the trainings were really good and the food was yummy! My comps were in charge of a training (which I got to help with) and we did a "sherwood park retreat" and handed out Hawaiian leis to everyone. It was fun but let's just say it didnt feel like a retreat because it was so cold outside! Oh well there's not much you can do about that.
GENERAL CONFERENCE:
General conference was so much fun and all the speakers were amazing! I loved all the talks and it was so cool to hear the messages! We had lots of friends listen and watch conference and they all loved it! I hope you all were able to watch conference last weekend!
REINHART:
We put our friend Reinhart on date for baptism! We showed him the baptismal font and the spirit was so strong so we put him on date right than and there. Reinhart actually texted us and asked to meet because he wanted to talk about general conference because he loved it so much!
Sad news: Reinhart is not in our area so we passed him off to other sisters and wont be watching him get baptized.
All that matters though is that he is making that special promise with heavenly father!
OTHER THINGS THAT HAPPENED:
○ Canada schools are on strike (so no kids are in school or sports)

○ Canada postal went on strike (so no packages)

○ Beat the elders in pickle ball
○ Got asked for our number
○ Got Vietnamese food
○ Had my last mentor meeting

SPIRITUAL THOUGHT:
Okay since its thanksgiving here in Canada i thought I would share a thought about gratitude. I remember one of the first talks I had to speak in church was on gratitude. I told my aunt steph about it and the next day she had sent me a video to use in my talk! I watched the video and since than have always remembered what it taught me. Here's the video sumed into my own words:
A teacher stood before his students, holding a stack of papers. With a gentle smile, he handed each student a blank sheet and instructed them to write down everything they saw on the chalkboard within one minute. The chalkboard was simple, with a single dark circle drawn on it. The students began to scribble furiously, describing the circle's size, location, and details.
When the time was up, the teacher asked the students to share their observations. Every student focused solely on the dark circle. "It's so big and dark," one student wrote. "It's right in the middle of the board," another noted.
The teacher than said, "The dark circle can represent the trials and challenges we face in life. It's easy to get caught up in the darkness and focus solely on it. But I want you to notice something," he said, gesturing to the board. "The entire board is not dark – in fact, most of it is blank and white. The light represents the good things in our lives, the blessings, and the opportunities.
When we focus solely on the dark circle, we can become consumed by our problems. But when we take a step back and look at the entire board, we realize that the light far outweighs the darkness. Ive noticed that alot in my missionary work! My days honestly go by so much better when I focus on all the good around me! This week i encourage you to practice gratitude for the light in your life. Be thankful for the people who support you, the opportunities you have, and the lessons you learn from your trials. Don't let the dark circle define your perspective. Instead, focus on the light that surrounds you, and let that guide you through life's challenges!
Sorry for the long email! (If you got this far than I am proud) I love and miss you all! Im so grateful for all the love and support you all show me!
HAPPY THANKSGIVING
