CHRISTMAS "EVES"
This one is for my eves clan but I just wanted to take a second to say I know one of those teams desperately missed a key player this year (ME). I just wanted to say I will be there next year so don't even worry! But I hope christmas eves was the best! On Christmas eves we went to a homeless shelter and did some service. Then at district council we did a gift exchange and ate some fire Chick-Fil-A!!! (Thanks Mom) We then practiced some bottling caroling and let's just say that was a bit rough. Eventually we got the hang of it though! We bottle caroled after that and it was absolutely freezing! (For those of you who don't know what bottle caroling is basically you blow into a bottle of water to make a sound - and if you're thinking to yourself how did their water not freeze... it did... and a couple lips got frozen to the bottles as well
) It was Super fun though and we sounded pretty good so that's good to! We ended the night at a members house playing games and it was super fun!

Okay in all honesty Christmas was not that bad on the mission. Mostly due to the fact that despite all the snow we have it still did not feel like Christmas. Haha i still can't comprehend that Christmas happened! My day was good though! We had president over for breakfast and that was intresting haha. Than we opened gifts and went over to a members house and played games, ate food, and they bought us gifts to open! Than we went to another members house for dinner and played games and ate dinner! Than we went to the YSA party we were throwing and that was so much fun! We invited friends, members, anyone really to a party so those that weren’t able to travel home for christmas could all be together! There was actually a really good turn out!
HIGHLIGHTS:
♡ I HIT 6 MONTHS TODAY!!! (Its been the longest yet the shortest 6 months of my life)
♡ Crumble donated 80 cookies to our party for (UOA students who didnt have a home for christmas)

♡ We got so much snow this week and so I got to shovel lots of driveways

♡ My member asked me to salt his driveway and I started grabbing the salt from the bucket and throwing it and after that we had a lesson on how to salt a driveway because he said I was doing it wrong

♡ Boxing Day!!! (@sis.ashby)

♡ Temple Trip!!!

♡ Got new hand warmers so now my hands arent freezing!!!

♡ Got let into a house and taught a lesson for my first time! I had no clue what to do when he invited us in
(the strat is to look freezing cold and than sometimes they feel bad and let you inside)

♡ Drove in my first blizzard

♡ Had my first "white christmas"!!!

FUN FACT:
In Canada they dont plow the roads because there is to much snow everywhere to do that so they pile dirt on top of the snow for traction and call it good. Its gross and basically there's just brown snow all over haha.
SPIRITUAL THOUGHT:
Since Jeffrey R. Holland passed away I wanted to share a quote from him that my mission president shared with me at the beginning of my mission.
“I have thought about this a great deal. I offer this as my personal feeling. I am convinced that missionary work is not easy because salvation is not a cheap experience. Salvation never was easy. We are The Church of Jesus Christ, this is the truth, and He is our Great Eternal Head. How could we believe it would be easy for us when it was never, ever easy for Him? It seems to me that missionaries and mission leaders have to spend at least a few moments in Gethsemane. Missionaries and mission leaders have to take at least a step or two toward the summit of Calvary.
Now, please don’t misunderstand. I’m not talking about anything anywhere near what Christ experienced. That would be presumptuous and sacrilegious. But I believe that missionaries and investigators, to come to the truth, to come to salvation, to know something of this price that has been paid, will have to pay a token of that same price.”
I remember my mission president telling me this quote and I remember thinking wow I did not sign up for that
right than and there i was rethinking the very decision I made to serve. However, the mission so far (despite me being out for only 6 months) has pushed me in ways ive never thought possible. Its helped me understand my savior jesus christ and his atonement in ways I never have before! For missionaries reading this- keep going! Salvation isn't easy but as we follow jesus christ things in our life will seem easier!
