The last Saturday in July Hurricane put on another Tennis tournament for middle school age kids. It started at 7:30 and we still didn't beat the heat. Brecken had a bye the first round and had to wait around for a little bit. Addison came over to watch Brecken, and Preston was down but had a golf game so he didn't stay long to get a picture. Brecken played our neighbor girl Maggie Holmes for his first game. He had a great game and was able to win fairly fast. Next up he had to play a boy who was a year older, and he ended up winning even though he didn't play his best. He made it to the last match of the day. It was hot and almost noon. They took breaks and sat in shade, but it was still hot. Brecken kept his cool and was able to stay in control even when he had some bad sets. He got in the other kids head and came out 1st place again. I was so excited for him. This kid doesn't' show to much emotion but I could tell he was pretty excited to get 1st again. He is a great young man adn wants to get better at Tennis coach Rahde has been such a good coach and friend to Brecken.
