Shaylee Mission July 29th-Aug 4th 2025

Another week in the books.  Shaylee couldn't call tell lalter in the day so it was just me and the boys who could get on and talk.  Dad got on the first little bit but then had patients the rest of the day.  Preston and Addison had work.  She is doing well and slowly getting the hang of this mission thing.  She had some service this week and a one month mark of the mission.

1 MONTH!!!!❤️🤍🇨🇦

CHAPTER 4: Glen Allan/ Sherwood park
WEATHER UPDATE: Mostly in the 20s which is 70s is fahrenheit! We get random waves of weather throughout the day but this week was the warmest week they've had all summer!🥳

Whats up guys, this week was so crazy but so great at the same time! I honestly don't remember much of what happened this week but ill try to do my best to recap it.

MONDAY- Monday was p-day and it was amazing. The weather was awesome and we went and played pickleball. There's nobody that's amazing at pickleball in my district so I kinda looked like a pro🤷‍♀️ (im working on humility right now but I haven't quite gotten there yet) Anyways we did some shopping and things. That night we had a really good lesson with our friend obinna and he also brought a friend with him! It was our first lesson with him so hopefully they can both progress.

TUESDAY- Tuesday was mostly full of service. We went to the day home and tried to play tik tac toe by throwing bean bags but I don't think any of the old folks understood what was going on. We also picked weeds for a lady in our ward who's been in and out of the hospital.

WEDNESDAY- I hit my 1 month of being a missionary on Wednesday. It's crazy to think ive been a missionary for a month. Saul had his baptismal interview! We went to a members house for dinner and we had smoked brisket and it was by far the best meal ive had since being here.

THURSDAY- Thursday we went to the day home again. I also knocked on my first door this day. Which i know your probably asking yourself why I haven't knocked on a door yet, and honestly I slid by for a good while before my comps noticed and than started making me do the knocking. But we met alot of friends this day and it was super good!

FRIDAY- We tried to find alot of new friends this day but we weren't really successful. For canada its a holiday on Monday so because its a "long weekend" everyone is gone. We went to a members house for dinner, this members home is an older couple but her husband has some problems and it was probably the funniest dinner ive ever been to. He asked if we wanted to hear some dirty stories he had and my comp goes oh were you rolling in the mud and he goes no I mean the ...... and im sure you could guess where that conversation went. He also loved the N word and at one point just yelled it so loud. Im not sure it was our most spiritual visit but it was definitely entertaining.

SATURDAY- Saturday we had a huge 5 hour service event for the Edmonton food bank. There was a huge cultural event happening and so we just collected money for the food bank. There was tons of people dressed up in their cultured outfits and each tent had different food from different places. Me and sister Ballard decided we were going to be adventurous and try some different food but when it came down to it we got Mexican food😂😭

SUNDAY- Sunday none of our friends came to church which was kinda sad. It was fast sunday though and since my ward is just a ton of older people its always a guessing game of what they are going to get up there and say 😭😂 we found a friend named Larry and while we were talking to him he was smoking and than half way through our conversation he announced that he wasn't going to smoke anymore. Which i don't really think that's what's happening but its the thought that counts. But we have a lesson with him this week so hopefully it goes good!

SPIRITUAL MOMENT:
A little boy in our ward named Cassian turned 8 on sunday. We've been teaching him some lessons to get him ready for baptism. On Sunday he got up to bare his testimony. He said "i love church and im so excited to get baptized" he skipped to his bench and sat down. Than about 10 minutes later he got up again and said "im super excited to get baptized and get the holy ghost" than he skipped all the way back to his bench again. Everyone in the congregation was giggling a bit. It honestly was the coolest thing to watch though. It was just a really good reminder that this gospel can bring so much joy and excitement. His testimonies, although were super simple and short were filled with the spirit and were truly his raw knowledge and testimony of the gospel. Sometimes i think our testimonies might need to be more like cassians, focusing on the simple truths of the gospel. No matter where your testimony is at, you still have the impact to bring the spirit into someone's life, no matter how small or simple it may be.

It's funny because I always say im going to keep these short and then end up writing essays for yall. But I love and miss you all❤️
